Over the past week, from October 25 to October 31, 2026, Russia launched a massive assault on Ukraine, firing 1940 strike drones, over 1580 guided bombs (KAB), and 44 missiles of various types, of which 36 were ballistic. This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
Attacks on Energy Infrastructure
Zelensky noted that Ukraine's energy infrastructure is constantly under attack. Just in one night, Russian forces targeted energy facilities in several regions:
- Dnipropetrovsk region
- Vinnytsia region
- Zhytomyr region
- Khmelnytskyi region
As a result of these attacks, hundreds of thousands of families were left without electricity. For instance, in the Zhytomyr region, 650 settlements were without power, while in Dnipropetrovsk, nearly 100,000 people were affected.
Casualties from Attacks
In addition to energy facilities, Russian drones also struck residential areas. In Rivne region, 4 people were injured due to the attack. In Sumy region, a drone hit a residential sector, injuring 6 individuals while rescuers were working at the scene. Furthermore, in the morning, attacks were recorded in Lviv region, where drone debris damaged houses and cars, but fortunately, there were no casualties.
Conclusions and Reactions
These attacks highlight the continuous pressure Russia is exerting on Ukraine, particularly on its critical infrastructure. President Zelensky emphasized that the situation remains complex and called on the international community for more active measures to support Ukraine in the face of aggression.
