On September 30, 2026, Ukraine once again fell victim to a large-scale Russian strike, which targeted energy facilities in the capital and the Kyiv region. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, nearly 190 strike drones and ballistic missiles were launched overnight, resulting in significant damage.
Consequences of the Attack
The attack affected not only energy facilities but also residential buildings. Emergency services and repair teams are working to eliminate the consequences of the strike, including:
- Damage to residential buildings in Kyiv and the Kyiv region;
- A drone strike on a grocery supermarket in Ivankovichi, where firefighters are extinguishing a fire;
- An attack on a warehouse building in Kyiv, resulting in one death;
- Strikes on critical infrastructure in Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, and Rivne regions.
As of the morning of September 30, medical reports indicate 14 injured and five fatalities, including a child. Our condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the deceased.

President Zelensky noted that Ukrainian defenders managed to shoot down some of the ballistic missiles, but unfortunately, there were also hits. He expressed gratitude to international partners for their support in the form of new packages for air defense, emphasizing that each interceptor missile truly saves lives.
Zelensky stressed the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen air protection, especially with winter approaching, when the threat of attacks from Russia may increase. He urged all Ukrainians to unite and do everything possible to ensure that the Russian strategy of terror does not succeed.
