Details of the Detention
The detention occurred after the soldier attempted to leave the military base under the pretext of going to the hospital. The SBU apprehended him in a service vehicle as he was exiting the military unit. During the search, the following items were seized:
- 5 smartphones used for communication with Russian handlers;
- documents confirming his connections with the FSB;
- additional equipment that could have been used for information transmission.
Legal Consequences
The soldier has been charged with treason in conditions of martial law. This detention is part of a broader campaign by the SBU to identify and neutralize agents of foreign intelligence services attempting to undermine Ukraine's defense capabilities.
