On November 2, 2026, protests erupted in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, where people threw eggs and lit flares in response to the placement of soldiers in a private house, raising concerns among local residents.
National Guard's Explanation
The commander of the National Guard, Pivenko, explained that the house was used as a temporary accommodation point for mobilized soldiers. There were 18 servicemen inside, and according to him, everything was fine with them. The soldiers had the opportunity to communicate with their relatives.
Pivenko also reported that four soldiers who had left their unit without permission and needed medical assistance were taken to the National Guard medical center. He assured that all servicemen remaining in the building were safe.
Security Threats and Further Actions
The commander acknowledged the urgent need to relocate the soldiers due to the threat of a Russian missile strike. He urged people not to attempt to force their way onto the premises and not to escalate the situation. The confiscation of phones from the soldiers was explained by security concerns to prevent the disclosure of the object's location.
Internal Investigation
Pivenko will personally oversee an internal investigation aimed at clarifying the circumstances of the events. If violations by the military are found, those responsible will be held accountable. He noted that the investigation would include questioning the commander and medics present at the site.
The National Guard assures that the situation is under control and all servicemen are receiving the necessary assistance.
