According to a recent sociological study conducted among 1200 respondents, it has been revealed what language parents use in school chats. The study showed that parents predominantly communicate in Russian, although Ukrainian also has its presence.
Statistics of Language Communication
According to the data obtained:
- 7% of respondents noticed predominantly Russian-speaking communication among parents;
- 1.5% of respondents indicated exclusively Russian-speaking communication;
- 16% of respondents noted that parents communicate exclusively in Ukrainian.
Conclusions of the Study
These results indicate that the Ukrainian language still occupies a certain niche in parents' communication, although Russian remains dominant. The study emphasizes the importance of the language situation in Ukraine, especially in the context of school education, where the language of communication can influence the formation of children's language identity.
