Switzerland has adopted a new National Security Strategy in response to the war in Ukraine and increasing hybrid threats. This strategy encompasses 10 key objectives and includes 46 specific measures aimed at state protection.
Among the main tasks are reducing the state's vulnerabilities, strengthening civil defense, countering cyberattacks and disinformation, as well as protecting critical infrastructure. Special attention is also given to enhancing military capabilities to effectively repel potential armed attacks.
Additionally, the strategy emphasizes deepening cooperation with international partners. This move is significant for Switzerland, which has maintained a strict military neutrality for centuries. The adoption of such decisions highlights that the scale of modern security challenges compels even traditionally neutral states to reassess their approaches.
