Taxi Prices in Kyiv Will No Longer Surge During Air Alerts

On October 27, 2026, an important memorandum was signed in Kyiv regulating taxi fares during air alerts. The agreement was made between the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Economy, and major taxi companies such as Bolt, Uklon, Uber, and OPTI.

Price Increase Limitations

According to the new memorandum, the maximum fare increase for taxis during air alerts will not exceed 75% of the usual fare. This decision was made to prevent critical price hikes for transportation during disruptions that may occur during alerts or other force majeure circumstances.

Duration of the Restrictions

The price increase limitations will apply not only during alerts but also for at least two hours after they are lifted. This will ensure the availability of transportation for residents of the capital in critical situations when public transport, including the metro, may be halted.

Government and Public Reaction

Prime Minister Koretsky emphasized the importance of this step for ensuring the safety and comfort of Kyiv residents during emergencies. It is expected that the memorandum will help avoid speculation in the taxi market, which has often occurred in the past during alerts.
