Today, October 1, 2026, Ukrainian military pilot Captain Marat Mambetov was killed in action while performing a mission on a MiG-29 fighter jet. During the mission, he was conducting missile and bomb strikes against Russian forces on one of the front lines.
Circumstances of Death
Captain Mambetov's aircraft was shot down by an enemy missile. Although the pilot managed to eject, unfortunately, he did not survive. This tragic incident occurred while he was carrying out a crucial combat assignment, highlighting the high level of risk faced by Ukrainian military personnel in the current frontline situation.
Recognition of Achievements
Captain Mambetov was the commander of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade known as “Ghost of Kyiv.” His dedication to service and heroism while fulfilling his duties deserve great respect. He became a symbol of courage and patriotism, defending Ukraine until his last breath.
