The United States of America has approved the sale of air defense systems and ammunition to Ukraine for $2.7 billion. However, as noted by the State Department, this potential agreement still needs to be reviewed by Congress.
If the agreement is approved, Ukraine will receive:
- S-300 equivalent missiles;
- GAM-67 missiles;
- air defense systems with laser guidance and extended range;
- kits for upgrading launchers and mobile launch systems;
- radars for counter-drone systems.
The funding for the purchase of the weapons will be provided by European allies and contributions from the USA to the Ukraine Recovery Investment Fund.
