Today, October 3, 2026, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine faces an urgent need to move voting to the basement due to the threat of missile strikes. According to Fediienko, a missile could reach Kyiv in approximately 5 minutes, posing a risk to lawmakers during the session.
Moving Voting to Shelter
In light of these circumstances, lawmakers are considering conducting voting in the basement of the parliament. This decision will ensure the safety of parliamentarians during the missile threat. Voting is planned to be conducted via mobile phones using a closed system that will operate only in a designated location.
Denial of Relocation Rumors
Despite the panic caused by the shelling of Kyiv, a member of the Rada's National Security Committee denied the information about a possible relocation of the parliament to Lviv. According to him, there are currently no plans to change the location of the Verkhovna Rada, and lawmakers will continue to fulfill their duties in the capital.
