On September 21, 2026, Zaporizhzhia suffered serious consequences due to an enemy attack. As a result of the shelling, a shopping center was set on fire, and the oldest building of Zaporizhzhia National University was destroyed. Additionally, high-rise residential buildings were damaged.
Chronicle of Events
During the night of September 21, Zaporizhzhia experienced numerous shellings that led to significant destruction. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 1003 strikes were recorded on 60 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region yesterday. As a result of the attacks:
- 8 civilians were injured;
- 752 drones of various modifications were used by the enemy;
- 85 reports of destruction were received by law enforcement.
Air Defense Situation
The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces responded to the attacks, shooting down 148 enemy targets. Unfortunately, there were hits at 14 locations, as well as debris falling in 4 areas. The attack continues, and enemy drones are still present in the airspace.
Drone Threat in Kyiv
In addition to Zaporizhzhia, a yellow air alert has been declared in Kyiv due to the threat of drones. Residents of the capital are urged to urgently proceed to civil defense shelters. Authorities emphasize the importance of adhering to safety measures.
