Tonight, on October 25, 2026, Ukraine will transition to winter time, which involves setting the clocks back one hour at four in the morning. This means that Ukrainians will gain an additional hour of sleep.
Automatic Transition for Modern Devices
For owners of modern smartphones and computers, the transition to winter or summer time usually goes unnoticed. Most devices automatically adjust the time, making life easier for users. However, sometimes the automation can fail, so it's advisable to check if your clocks are set correctly.
Abolition of Seasonal Time Changes
It is worth noting that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the abolition of seasonal time changes back in 2024. However, as of today, the relevant law has not come into effect, and the country continues to operate under rules that require clocks to be changed twice a year – in spring and autumn.
