US President Donald Trump announced a deal with Denmark that involves expanding American military presence in Greenland. According to him, the agreement also restricts access to the island for Washington's "adversaries."
Trump stated that without written consent from the US, other nations would not be able to establish military bases or contingents in Greenland, nor make "sensitive investments" there. He emphasized that the agreement is without an expiration date.
