US President Donald Trump stated that his son Donald Trump Jr. returned money to Russian oligarch Umar Kremlov. Kremlov reportedly covered part of Trump Jr.'s wedding expenses in the Bahamas.
This statement came amidst an investigation by investigative journalists from ProPublica. According to their findings, Trump Jr. and Kremlov met through a mutual acquaintance and grew closer through shared interests in boxing and hunting. Kremlov allegedly spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on Trump Jr.'s wedding.
Following the publication of the journalists' report, members of the Democratic Party initiated an investigation into the matter.
