US President Donald Trump expressed the opinion that Ukraine should choose a new leader capable of negotiating a peace deal to end the war. According to him, Volodymyr Zelensky had several opportunities to do so but did not take advantage of them.
Criticism of Zelensky
Trump pointed out that Zelensky is not willing to make compromises, complicating the situation. He also emphasized that the Ukrainian president is creating problems not only for his country but also for the global community, particularly for American farmers, by attacking Russian oil refineries.
Warnings from the US
Trump recounted that the US warned Zelensky that strikes on facilities related to diesel fuel are unacceptable. He stated:
- “We told Zelensky: ‘Do whatever you want, but don’t touch diesel.’”
- Trump believes that such actions could lead to negative consequences for the entire world.
In Trump's view, if Zelensky continues his actions, it may complicate the possibility of achieving peace in Ukraine.
