Turkey and Pakistan have announced their intention to deploy troops to Saudi Arabia in response to preparations for an offensive against the Houthis. This decision follows the signing of the Makkah Agreement on joint defense, which serves as a Middle Eastern equivalent of NATO.
Reasons for Military Intervention
This decision was made after a series of Houthi attacks on Saudi territory. Notably, on September 29, the Houthis struck an electrical substation in Medina, raising serious concerns about security in the region.
Scale of the Military Operation
According to Reuters, Saudi Arabia, along with its supported government in Yemen, is preparing to conduct a military operation against the Houthis, potentially involving over 100,000 troops. This indicates the seriousness of the situation and the readiness of regional countries for active measures.
