On October 7, 2026, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Oleg Tykhyi, announced that Ukraine is ready for several ceasefire formats, depending on the readiness of the Russian Federation.
Ceasefire Formats
In his statement, Tykhyi outlined several possible ceasefire regimes that could be implemented:
- Complete and unconditional ceasefire;
- Ceasefire in the Black Sea mediated by Turkey and Egypt;
- Ceasefire regarding energy strikes and a food ceasefire mediated by India;
- Energy ceasefire mediated by the USA.
Dependence on Russia
Tykhyi emphasized that the key question remains Russia's readiness for these formats. The further course of negotiations and the feasibility of the proposed initiatives will depend on Moscow's response.
