Over the course of three days, Ukraine has struck several Russian oil refineries, knocking out about 10% of their capacities. According to an OSINT channel, among the affected facilities are the Klystovskyi Oil Refinery, Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery, and the Bashneft-Novoil enterprise.

Impact of the Strikes on Russian Oil Refining

The total annual capacity of these refineries is approximately 33 million tons of oil, which accounts for about 10% of all oil refining capacities in Russia. The attacks result in significant damage: a single strike can incapacitate several technological units at once, including primary and secondary oil processing facilities.

Context of the Strikes

It is noted that prior to these actions, Ukraine refrained from striking Russian oil refineries for two weeks at the request of the US presidential administration. However, despite this, Russia did not cease its attacks on Ukrainian territories, which likely influenced Ukraine's decision to resume strikes on the critical infrastructure of its adversary.
