As of October 3, 2026, Kyiv has updated the traffic rules for bridges during air alerts. This decision was made to ensure the safety of residents in the capital during the threat of air attacks.
Traffic Restrictions on Bridges
According to the new rules, traffic on some bridges will be temporarily restricted during the announcement of an air alert. In particular:
- Southern Bridge: traffic from the left bank to the right bank is unrestricted. In the opposite direction (from right to left), traffic is restricted for 15 minutes after the alert begins, after which it resumes.
- Podilsko-Voskresensky Bridge: traffic in both directions is halted for 15 minutes after the alert begins and for another 15 minutes after it ends. After that, traffic is fully restored.
- Northern Bridge: traffic is unrestricted.
- Darnytsky Bridge: traffic is unrestricted.
- Paton Bridge: traffic is unrestricted.
- Metro Bridge: traffic is unrestricted.
Recommendations for Drivers
Drivers are advised to take these changes into account when planning their trips. To access the Southern Bridge towards the left bank, drivers can use:
- Stolichne Highway;
- Naddnipryansky Highway;
- Vydubichi bus station.
It is also important to note that traffic on other bridges across the Dnipro River will not be restricted, allowing for continued mobility in the city.
General Recommendations
Residents of Kyiv are asked to understand the implemented changes in traffic organization and to consider the provided information when planning their travel routes. The security situation remains a priority, and adhering to the new rules will help ensure the safety of all road users.
