The US has approved a possible sale of air defense modernization equipment to Ukraine for $2.68 billion. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, the package includes:
- S-300 Clone and GAM-67 missiles;
- laser-guided missiles for extended-range air defense;
- launchers and modification kits;
- RPS 202 radars for countering drones;
- spare parts and consumables;
- software and technical documentation;
- transportation, engineering, technical, and logistical support.
Funding is planned to come from contributions from one European country and the US Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program.
Additionally, the EU has approved the purchase of critically important American weaponry by Ukraine, including air defense systems, amounting to €3 billion under the Ukraine Support Loan.
Continuous funding for priority purchases will ensure timely provision of necessary armaments to the Defense Forces and strengthen air defense ahead of winter, the Ministry of Defense noted.
