As of October 2, 2026, the United States has announced plans to deploy up to 10,000 troops to the Middle East by the end of November. This decision was reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Details of the Military Operation
As part of this operation, ships, fighters, marines, and sailors will be sent to the region. Military bases have already seen the departure of the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt and the amphibious group from the USS Makin Island, which includes over 2,000 marines.
Financial Costs and Logistical Challenges
It is expected that by mid-October, three carrier groups will be simultaneously present in the Middle East, costing Washington nearly $30 million a day. However, the US Navy is already experiencing supply shortages and is under almost record strain due to Iranian attacks using ballistic missiles.
