- approximately 1,700 Patriot interceptors,
- over 200 THAAD missiles,
- about 150 ship-based Standard Missile.
These expenditures were a result of active military operations in the Middle East, which required substantial resources to sustain military actions.
Replenishing Arsenals
According to WSJ, replenishing missile stocks of this scale may take years due to the limited capabilities of the American defense industry. The production of new missiles and air defense systems requires time, and this may affect the USA's ability to respond to new threats.
Delays in Deliveries
Earlier reports indicated that the USA has already warned its allies about delays in the delivery of certain missiles and air defense systems for up to five years.
