In Ukraine, water supply schedules may be introduced during prolonged power outages. This was announced by the director of the Ukrvodokanalekologiya Association, Oleksandr Shkin, on October 12, 2026.
Reasons for Introducing Schedules
According to Shkin, the introduction of water supply schedules will be related to several factors:
- the need for fuel delivery;
- stoppages of generators that provide electricity;
- insufficient pressure for supplying water to the upper floors of apartment buildings.
Although autonomous power sources can maintain pressure in the water supply network, they may not be sufficient to ensure water supply to apartments on higher floors.
Impact on the Population
The introduction of water supply schedules could significantly affect the daily lives of Ukrainians. In the event of prolonged power outages, which have already become common in some regions, schedules may become a necessary measure to ensure stable water supply. This may also create additional challenges for residents of high-rise buildings.
Assessment of the Situation
The director of the Ukrvodokanalekologiya Association emphasized that, although autonomous systems can help, they are not always capable of solving the water supply problem during prolonged power outages. It is important for the population to be prepared for potential changes in water supply schedules, as this may impact their daily lives.
