On September 22, 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska arrived in New York to participate in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. A series of important meetings with international leaders and representatives of various organizations are scheduled during this visit.
Plans and Priorities of the Visit
According to reports, President Zelensky intends to hold around 20 meetings, including:
- a meeting with US President Donald Trump,
- discussions with European leaders,
- meetings with senators and members of the US House of Representatives,
- talks with heads of international organizations.
The main priorities of the visit include:
- signing a new Drone Deal,
- strengthening the air defense system,
- ensuring financial support for Ukraine,
- discussing security solutions to bring an end to the war.
International Crimea Platform and Speeches
The summit of the international Crimea Platform is also scheduled to take place in New York, which is an important step in garnering international support for Ukraine. Olena Zelenska will speak at Columbia University, where she will present the results of the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen at the UN.
Additionally, the First Lady has a series of meetings planned with American businesses and philanthropists to support the projects of the Olena Zelenska Foundation, as well as bilateral meetings with representatives from other countries, including the wife of the Prime Minister of the UK and the President of the World Bank.
