Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to participants of the 30th Ibero-American Summit for urgent assistance in supplying energy equipment. He stated that the Ukrainian energy system has suffered significant damage due to attacks from Russia, particularly from the use of "shaheds" and missiles.

State of Ukraine's Energy Infrastructure

Zelensky noted that every nuclear power plant in Ukraine has been affected by Russian attacks, posing a threat not only to the energy stability of the country but also to the safety of its population. As a result of these attacks, critical energy equipment requires urgent restoration and modernization.

Necessary Equipment for Recovery

The President emphasized that Ukraine urgently needs:

  • transformers;
  • power cables;
  • modern electrical equipment;
  • diesel and gas generators.

In particular, Ukraine is interested in procuring transformers from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia, power cables from Chile, as well as electrical equipment and generators from Spain.

Call for Cooperation

Zelensky urged companies from these countries to establish direct cooperation for the swift delivery of the necessary materials to Ukraine. He stressed the importance of obtaining equipment that will be compatible with the Ukrainian power grid and called for active measures to implement this initiative.
