On September 25, 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting to discuss the results of interceptor tests against Russian Shahed drones. The main goal of the meeting was to determine ways to strengthen Ukraine's defense and adjust responses to threats from Russia.
Results of Interceptor Tests
The meeting included reports on:
- the percentage of downed drones;
- the experience of teams involved in interception;
- the main means that can enhance Ukraine's defense.
Zelensky noted that production of new means is being accelerated, and there are new solutions for deploying the production of various types of jet engines in Ukraine.
Russia's Technological Plans for 2027
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine provided a detailed report on Russia's technological plans for 2027. The report addressed:
- the means the enemy relies on;
- production capabilities;
- the use of supply schemes for components into Russia.
In accordance with the emerging threats, the Ukrainian side is adjusting its countermeasures. A priority task for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is to promote new sanctions packages aimed at blocking shadow schemes used by Russia to ensure the production of drones and missiles, especially ballistic ones.
Protection of Critical Infrastructure
The meeting also adopted decisions aimed at protecting and ensuring the uninterrupted operation of data center infrastructure and other facilities critical to communication. The President emphasized the need for full implementation of these decisions at all levels, which is a personal responsibility of officials and security service leaders.
In closing the meeting, Zelensky stressed the importance of joint efforts to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and ensure the safety of its citizens.
