Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that attempts by the US administration under Donald Trump to negotiate with Russia are a waste of time. In an interview with Reuters, he emphasized that compromises with the Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin will not lead to the end of the war in Ukraine.
Why Compromises Don't Work
Zelensky pointed out that Russia only understands the language of strength, and therefore attempts to satisfy its demands are ineffective. He stressed that such actions may only prolong the conflict without resolving it. The President called on the international community to take more decisive actions in support of Ukraine.
Reaction of the International Community
Zelensky also expressed hope that other countries, particularly the US, would realize the futility of compromises with Russia. He emphasized that to achieve peace, Ukraine needs support in the form of military and financial assistance, rather than agreements that could only weaken Ukraine's position.
