Today, September 28, 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on the results of drone interception in Ukraine during his address. According to him, the overall interception rate stands at 70%, with 57% of these being reactive drones.
Attacks by 'Shaheds' and Their Consequences
Zelensky noted that numerous drone attacks, particularly by 'Shahed' type drones, occurred throughout the day. He stated that more than 120 attacks have been recorded, of which 90 are reactive drones. This indicates an intensification in the use of drones in military operations.
Development of New Interceptors
The president also discussed new Ukrainian interceptors that are currently being actively tested to combat drones. He emphasized that some combat groups are already utilizing these new technologies but pointed out the need for further refinement of certain details to enhance effectiveness. Zelensky mentioned that developers are being expedited in their efforts to ensure adequate mass production and effectiveness of the new systems.
