Today, on October 24, 2026, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky made an important statement emphasizing that the country needs a strong army, a strong president, and a strong people. He stressed that in the face of modern challenges, Ukraine cannot afford weakness in leadership, otherwise the country will be threatened by Russia.

Zelensky noted that in the context of military aggression from Russia, it is crucial for Ukraine to have a powerful army capable of defending the state. He stated that:
- “Today Ukraine cannot afford a weak president”;
- “Otherwise, the Russians will eat us up.”

Additionally, Zelensky announced that Ukraine is ready to halt hostilities along the line of contact. However, he clearly stated that the country will not recognize the occupied territories, which constitute 19.3% of Ukraine's total area, as Russian.
